Life moves on…
and so to do blogs… I made a statement in 2009 that I may come to regret…) it went something like this… ‘2010 is the year I’m either going to take my ‘art’ seriously or give up….!’
so as I’d read that ‘if you want to be taken seriously as an artist you should use your own name in your websites/blogs….’ not sure about the truth of this statement but it did sort of make some kind of sense…
so my new blog… and website do hope you’ll pop over and have a look…
not sure what I’m going to do with ‘magic indigo’ yet… 🙂
new page … tag book…
I’ve started a new project and a new page showing it’s development… tag book
New projects…
Remembering the earlier post about ‘ blogging without obligation’ I’m just going to jump straight back in and post some pictures of my work…
three altered text ATCs already gone to a new home… but I really enjoyed making them so I’m sure I will be doing more…
a 5” quilty.. made for a swap…and gone to it’s new home…
Design decisions…
As I’ve mentioned in a previous post I’ve committed myself to a year long project, a bead journal, starting in June. So I’m having to make some design decisions…
After much consideration and deliberation… I think I’m going to opt for the book format, as I’m thinking of this project as a place I can try out ideas… maybe add a few personal happenings… the idea of a journal done with beads and hand stitches on some of my hand dyed/painted fabrics seems to me the perfect place to maybe share a few secrets in the bead/stitch work… therefore a book seems to be the perfect setting… I have started making a paper journal that I will keep during the next year… somewhere to jot down any design ideas and developments… maybe I can combine the two journals somehow…I’ll have to think about that a bit… I’m really looking forward to starting this project…
Finished painting…
I’ve stop painting, at least on this piece of fabric, otherwise I could just go on and on, then have no room for any stitching….
while I have no idea what I’m going to make with this fabric, 20” x 16”, I couldn’t resist adding a few outline stitches in one corner….
