New page… urban graffiti…
I’ve added a new page showing the altered book I’ve just posted to Claire… called ‘urban graffiti‘… I used acrylic paint to create the backgrounds then lots of different pens…
Inspiring talk…
this morning I organised a talk for my local art group… we meet on a Tuesday morning here in Staithes… some weeks we all just do ‘our own thing’ but sometimes we arrange for a speaker or artist to do a demonstration. Today Peter Hicks presented his talk about Lilian Colbourn… I had the job of thanking Peter at the end of the talk but ran out of words to use… wonderful … stunning… were a couple of the words I used… we were also lucky to have Lilian’s daughter Gloria present at the talk so she added another side to the talk about her mother. Gloria, herself is an artist, she also takes some wonderful photos as well as writing about the fishing industry here on the north east coast.

I’ve just checked into my blog to find that I’ve had visitors from Monica Magness’s blog, so I rushed over there to check it out… it is wonderful, to quote Monica ‘Anything you have to say, you can SAY it with art!’ … Monica is talking about a dare … daring to share your mess… well I already did so… right here … if you want to take a look..
The following picture is a page from an altered book that I’ve been working on… it will be posted out the week … the title for the swap was ‘urban graffiti’… I’ve had great fun working on it …

I’ve been reading about the ‘pay it forward’ idea on several sites, Jude Annica Natalya but I’ve always been to late to sign up, three other people have always beaten me to it… until today that is… I was looking at creative lenna’s blog and Lenna posted links to the blogs of the three people who had signed with her so I hopped over to Eva’s blog and guess what I was first there… big grin…. so this is how it works:
