Great holiday weekend…

May 28, 2007 at 6:27 pm (ATC's, doodling, swap)

While Saturday was spent at home mainly doing chores and ‘referring’ the children and their friends… Sunday I got to go out to play! Open Studios was on here in North Yorkshire, so I got to visit lots of lovely studios and see lots of great work… I’ll post more on this when I’ve got the links to some of the artists I visited sorted out…. then today I finished off a swap I’m doing ‘Get your doodle on ATC swap’ these are now all ready to post…

get-your-doodle-on-atc-swap.jpg

however, the swap only called for 6 cards and I ended up making 9, I was having fun and just forget to stop… as I plan to keep one for myself that leaves two cards spare, so if anyone is reading this and would like to swap a doodle ATC please leave a comment and I’ll get back to you…

May 23, 2007 at 6:49 pm (doodling, sketchbook, symbols)

As I mentioned in a previous post, the doodling online class that I was following finished last week. Well another class started this week, with the same teacher, Susan Sorrell, called ‘Personal Symbols’. As the doodling class had got me back to working in my sketchbook and I had really enjoyed it… I’ve signed up for the ‘Personal Symbols’ class too…..

Photos of the project I’m working on at the moment…

May 17, 2007 at 8:21 pm (beading, doodling, fabric dyeing, journal, stitch / hand, stitch / machine)

This is the last week of the doodling online class I’ve been participating in….. at  jogglers.

the idea was to take a piece of pattern fabric ( it could have a pattern created by you from a doodle), then paint another doodle on top….. bit difficult to explain hope the pictures say it all…

not yet finished painting and decorating the fabric yet, but the idea is to then add some stitching and maybe a few beads…. I might use a piece of the fabric as background for my bead journal…

background fabric face one close up of fabric

Background fabric, this piece of fabric was used as a mop up cloth, when I was painting/dyeing fabric, I like the colors so I stamped a few patterns on with some acrylic paint.
